About the free PrintTest.org printer diagnostic tools

PrintTest.org turns common print-quality symptoms into focused, browser-based test sheets that are quick to print and straightforward to interpret.

Why PrintTest.org publishes free printer test pages

A printer problem is easier to diagnose when a test sheet isolates the symptom. PrintTest.org provides original patterns for color, black ink, CMYK channels, alignment, nozzles, grayscale, text, photo detail, dimensions, borderless output, duplex registration, and low-coverage connectivity. Each page explains what its elements test and how to read visible problems.

The project is independent and is not affiliated with HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Xerox, or another printer manufacturer. Brand names may be used only to explain broad compatibility. Model-specific maintenance instructions should always come from the manufacturer.

How browser printer test patterns are designed

The sheets use native HTML and CSS geometry instead of copying diagnostic images from another website. Vector-like lines, gradients, type samples, grids, and color patches remain sharp at print resolution and adapt to A4, US Letter, A5, Legal, and A3 paper, with 4 x 6 output on the photo test.

Every pattern has a defined job. Solid fills reveal density; tint ladders reveal tone separation; gradients reveal banding; fine lines reveal gaps and alignment; rulers reveal scaling; and text samples reveal edge sharpness.

How printer guidance is reviewed and corrected

Content separates an observation from a possible cause and a reasonable next check. A visual symptom rarely proves that a particular component has failed, so the site avoids definitive hardware diagnoses and points users to model-specific built-in tools when maintenance is involved.

Review dates are published in the footer. Reproducible pattern problems, content corrections, browser differences, and accessibility feedback can be sent through the contact page.

Privacy and independence of the print workflow

The standard browser print dialog handles the print job. The site does not enumerate printers, read supply levels, capture printed output, or upload a diagnostic result. No account is required.

PrintTest.org may be supported by future advertising or partnerships, but commercial arrangements will not change test results or create undisclosed manufacturer endorsements. Any such relationships would be disclosed where relevant.
